Location: St Helens
Hours:  39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, from 7.30am to 4pm and Friday 7.30am – 3pm , including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Pay: £16.50

Role summary

We are seeking a skilled Milling Machine Operator / Centre Lathe Turner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will posses a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating manual milling machines and manual centre lathes. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to assemble components accurately while adhering to safety standards.The Centre Lathe Turner will play a crucial part in the production process, ensuring that all materials are handled efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Operate milling machines and centre lathes to produce precision components according to specifications.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD designs to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Handle materials and tools safely while adhering to workplace safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and maintain quality control.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Skills needed

• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of milling and turning processes
• Proficiency in using hand tools and materials handling techniques
• Basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers and tooling techniques
• Previous experience in assembly and manufacturing environments
