HG Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a respected and long-standing engineering firm to find a talented and experienced Plater / Fabricator to join their growing team. Working hours:

Hours are between: Monday–Friday , 7:00am–5:00pm.

38 hours per week

About the Role


As a Plater / Fabricator, you’ll be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing steel plates and sections, and ensuring work is completed to exact specifications. You’ll work closely with the welding team to deliver high-quality, precision fabrications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering and fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Cut, prepare, and assemble steel plates and sections to specification.
  • Carry out plating operations in line with work instructions.
  • Pass completed assemblies to welders for final build.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with standards.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity (following a successful temp-to-perm period) offering a competitive pay rate, overtime enhancements, and the chance to work on prestigious, varied projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Time-served with a recognised qualification or apprenticeship in fabrication.
  • Strong ability to read and work from technical drawings.
  • Competent in operating fabrication and cutting equipment.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • A problem-solver with sound decision-making skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ideally, 4–5 years’ experience in a fabrication workshop environment.
