Quoting and Process Engineer

To work in a fast-paced production engineering department, reporting to the Production Engineering Manager.

Activities

• The assessment and initial cost estimating of a wide range of manufactured components, using both 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
• By liaising internally and externally with material suppliers, sub-contractors, the company’s Production Engineers and by using your relevant manufacturing experience, you will be able to estimate the manufacturing costs of what can be quite complex machined components.
• Production of suitable Bill of Materials (BOM’s) within the company’s ERP system.
• Updating of BOM’s for existing components as and when engineering changes are implemented.

The Person

• You must be a confident cost engineer familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and a wide range of manufacturing processes, including CNC milling, CNC turning, grinding, gear cutting, spark eroding and surface finishing processes.
• As the duties of the role are carried out within the ERP software, you should possess strong computer skills.
• You would ideally have previous experience of working within a similar role and be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
