Tail Lift Engineer

Role Summary:

• HG are recruiting experienced Tail Lift Engineers based in Manchester.  We are looking for an experienced Engineers carry out repairs to commercial vehicle tail lifts and shutters.
• As part of our Service Team, you will be responsible for the service and repair of vehicle tail lifts and shutter doors, from a range of manufacturers, including diagnosing faults and finding temporary solutions in breakdown situations, whilst ensuring all company processes and procedures are followed and adhered to correctly.

Key responsibilities include:

• Examining vehicle tail lifts, reporting on the condition, safety and reliability of the lift. (LOLER).
• Identifying and reporting on tail lift defects and potential component failure.
• Servicing and repair of customer vehicle tail lifts,
• Maintain and repair shutters.
• Conducting tail lift weight tests.

The ideal candidate:

• This position would suit someone who is self motivated, likes working on their own and who is mechanically minded.
• We are looking for someone who has worked in this field but we would be willing to give some training for the right candidate.
• This position would suit someone who is interested in vehicle repairs and has a good mechanical interest.
• The job is very physical so the candidate will have to be physically fit

Experience required:

• Previous vehicle tail lift service, maintenance & repair work is essential
• Knowledge of relevant LOLER or PUWER regs. for lifting equipment
• Relevant electrical experience is expected
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential
• Excellent customer service abilities
• Good communication skills
• Excellent self-motivation and organisational skills

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm
• Overtime is available
