Health & Safety HSEQ and Compliance Manager

HG have a fantastic opportunity for a HSEQ and Compliance professional to join one of the UK’s leading Blue Chip Logistics Company

This is a national role and requires flexibility for travel and being visible to our site teams. Ideally Based between the Northamptonshire and Lancashire area although there will be some Southern sites within your remit

Job Description

  • Permanent Health and Safety Manager/HSEQ & Compliance
  • Salary up to £70,000 per annum

As our clients Health and Safety Business Partner, you will be a member of their Public and Industrial senior leadership team, with a focus on P&I whilst also forming with their wider sectors and Group Safety. As a valued senior leader, you will be leading their safety strategy taking ownership of safety culture, people, budgets and shaping continuous improvement.  

This national role thrives from face-to-face engagement, pragmatic and innovative leadership, along with being results driven within their dynamic, compliant focused operations. Our clients P&I sector is complex and tailored to customer unique needs… that’s where you come in, offering end-to-end safety solutions. 
 

Key Accountabilities:  
- Lead and take ownership of their SHEQ planning and strategy, through culture, people, budgets and key metrics. 
- Key valued member of their senior leadership team, taking ownership within senior meetings on all matters SHEQ and compliance focused. 
- Promote, engage, and deliver the SHEQ strategy, driving tangible improvements in safety performance and culture. 
- Support, coach, and guide management teams on all aspects of SHEQ, being accountable for performance across the sector. 
- Provide SHEQ SME knowledge and support to colleagues and line management within the sector, ensuring best practise in health and safety, including management, accident reduction strategies, safety culture engagement and training. 
- Lead on statistical analysis and trends to identify areas of opportunity, assisting in creation, modification and delivery of relevant action plans and provide support for all HSEQ.

What will you bring to our client’s team?

- Senior leadership SHEQ multi-site/sector experience, within different complex and unique operations.  
- Thrive from measured results and successes, with experience in improvements against targets and strategy. 
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation experience, showcasing evidence of sharing best-in-class practises and lessons learned. 
- Evidence of trend analysis, showcasing moving forward with culture and KPIS.
Passionate for people safety and development, experienced in delivery safety culture, identifying individuals through succession planning, coaching and development. 
NEBOSH General Qualification (as a minimum).
